Attendance care

Presence care is the form of respite care at home, allowing the client to remain in his or her familiar environment. Care tasks are fully or partially taken over from the informal carer, as long as they are not nursing operations, during a holiday, or one weekend a month? The care is provided by a fixed person or team, so that the carer and informal carer have a trusted person in the home.

Attendance care involves a minimum of 2 hours per week and a maximum of 24 hours per day.

Wmo: Social Support Act

Appropriate respite care is determined per person.

Respite care is sometimes free, for example because it is voluntary work. If it does involve costs, the informal carer may be able to be reimbursed. This is possible if the carer himself receives support from the Wmo. In that case, the informal carer can apply for respite care at the municipality.

For applications, support and information on the Social Support Act and for the application PGB for WMO support, please contact your municipality through the Social Neighbourhood Team in your area. Lelystad has four social district teams (North West, North East, South West and South East) and you can call them at the general telephone number 0320-745720. You can also e-mail: contact@wijkteamlelystad.nl

The staff of the Social District Team know the opportunities available in Lelystad.

Supplementary health insurance

Some health insurers reimburse replacement care or an informal care arrangement in full or in part from the supplementary insurance.

You can use the following link for more information: health insurance reimbursement overview. We realise that this overview is not complete. The ever-changing conditions in the supplementary policies make it difficult to make this overview clear and comprehensible. We will be happy to check with you whether informal care replacement is reimbursed in your situation. No rights can be derived from this information.

Contact your health insurance provider.

Pgb-Zvw

In the Health Insurance Act, care is usually provided in kind, but can also be provided in the form of a personal budget (pgb). The rules for the pgb in the Health Insurance Act differ per health insurer. You can find the rules in your health insurer's policy conditions.

- Your indication is made by a district nurse (hbo nurse).
- You apply for a pgb-Zvw from your health insurer.

Be well informed about the pros and cons of a pgb. Some health insurers reimburse respite care - partially - within the supplementary insurance. Check your policy conditions or ask for more information from your health insurer.
