Always a ride nearby

Don't have transport but still want to go shopping, visit the doctor or visit family or friends? With De Opstap and ANWB AutoMaatje, we help you on your way. Our volunteers will drive you to your destination with pleasure and attention.

The Opstap is there for regular rides, such as to the supermarket, GP or if you are visiting. ANWB AutoMaatje is flexible: you call, and a volunteer drives you in their own car. You only pay a small expense allowance. So you stay mobile and in contact with others.

I don't have transport to appointments. What can I do?

In Lelystad, you can use two transport services: The Opstap and ANWB AutoMaatje. The Opstap is an eight-seater minibus for rides within the city especially for people who are less mobile. Also suitable for wheelchairs and rollators.

ANWB AutoMaatje offers tailor-made transport, including outside Lelystad. With volunteers who take you with their own car to, for example, the hospital, the hairdresser or a family visit. Both services require only a small expense allowance.

I have an appointment with a doctor, but no one to go with me. What now?

Sometimes it is nice to have someone accompany you to an appointment. Not just for company, but also to listen in, calm down or help remember what has been said.

To that end, there is Patient Support

Our volunteers will accompany you, even to hospitals outside Lelystad. They offer a listening ear, follow along with what you are thinking, and can also relay the information from the conversation to your caregiver or healthcare professional.
